How to Do It

    Pause and take one slow breath together.

    Name five things you can see.

  3. 3

    Name four things you can hear.

  4. 4

    Name three things you can touch or feel.

  5. 5

    Name two things you can smell, then one thing you can taste or one thing you are grateful for.

Tips & Variations

  • Use it during meltdowns, bedtime, or waiting times.
  • Go slowly and let your child point things out.
  • Outdoors works especially well.
