20–30 min
What It Builds
Anxiety management by externalizing worries so they feel smaller and more manageable, plus a sense of containment and control.
How to Do It
- 1
Decorate a small box together.
- 2
When a worry comes up, your child writes or draws it and places it in the box.
- 3
Set a regular "worry time" to open the box and talk through worries together.
- 4
Sort which worries you can solve and which to let go.
- 5
Close the box until next time.
Tips & Variations
- For non-writers, draw the worry.
- Reassure that the box keeps worries safe so they can be set down.
- Celebrate worries that have shrunk.
